The Pacific Crest Trail was my first thru-hike and quite the introduction. I had no idea what I was getting into. I'm an outdoor girl, but I wasn't ready to walk through a desert 12 hours a day. Somehow, I survived, and looking back, hiking the PCT was the best decision and the biggest adventure of my life. It taught me to avoid “what ifs” and to go for things, even if it means failing and learning along the way. The trail crushes you and then lifts you up moments later. You experience every emotion and discover a new version of yourself. I like that version of me, so I guess I'll just keep hiking.
